Operations & Technology

Since joining OCBC China, I have deeply felt the bank’s emphasis on cultivating Graduate Talents. The management team maintains close communication with us, not only explaining the bank’s overall business and strategy but also providing meticulous guidance to each graduate talent in our work. In Operations & Technology Department where I work, senior colleagues with outstanding technical skills shared their experience selflessly. Through mentoring, they involve me in real projects, helping me integrate into work more quickly. During the cross-department rotation, experienced colleagues from various departments patiently explained the bank’s different businesses to us, enabling me to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the bank’s overall operating mechanism.

During the rotation, I participated in a specific industry analysis project in the Transaction Banking Department. To me as someone who is from Technology team, understanding the many products of Transaction Banking was certainly a challenge. Fortunately, the mentors were very patient, repeatedly answering my questions and helping us continuously improve the project outcomes. My peers of Graduate Talents also offered me a lot of support. In the end, the project was completed on time. This experience made me deeply realize the importance of fast learning and teamwork, and it boosted my confidence in overcoming future work challenges.

2024 Graduate Talent

Corporate Banking

In 2024, I joined OCBC China as a Graduate Talent in the Corporate Banking. The two-year OCBC Graduate Talent Program includes rotation opportunities across multiple departments such as Financial Institutions, Risk Management, Compliance, and Operations. Through systematic training, I gained an in-depth understanding of the bank’s operating model and internal policies, met outstanding colleagues, and received support for my subsequent work. The bank also provided a two-week orientation at Group Headquarter in Singapore and opportunities to communicate with senior leaders. Senior colleagues also gave valuable advice.

During Graduate Talent Program, I was fortunate to rotate in Risk Management Department and gained a lot. Within a month, colleagues in Risk Management systematically explained OCBC’s risk policies, including credit policies and working capital loan management. The training was thorough yet easy to understand, helping me grow from a banking novice into a professional with a clear understanding of policies. Especially the credit policies, which are closely related to my front-office department, have become a valuable guide for my future work. This fulfilling rotation experience allowed me to fully grasp the company’s risk policies, and I look forward to applying this knowledge in future work to support my career development.
